Prof. Ivan Mitov: Medical Faculty is proud with its 242 Bulgarian and 193 foreign graduated doctors.

On the official ceremony on the 24th of January in the National Palace of Culture, 435 young doctors from 2018 class of Medical University – Sofia, received their diplomas. The Dean of the Medical Faculty - Prof. Ivan Mitov gave a special speech.

"I am very excited to turn to the next class of young doctors, trained in the Medical Faculty, who has a 100-year history. Medical Faculty is proud with his 242 Bulgarian and 193 foreign graduated doctors, from more than 20 countries.”

The Dean didn’t forget to mention the difficulty of medical education.

“From the moment you entered the Faculty building, 6 years have passed, filled with hard work and deprivation, but also with unforgettable friendships and experiences of student life. You made these efforts, following your dream - to become good doctors. But the real challengers are yet to come - tomorrow you will have to prove yourself daily, take decisions for the patients' health and show sympathy for the people. "

Prof. Mitov reminded that the responsibility of every doctor is enormous and this requires continuous education through entire professional path.

He stressed, that the young doctors leaving the Medical University - Sofia, are with very good mostly theoretical training and assured them, that their lecturers from the Medical Faculty will continue to take care of their future specialization.

Prof. Mitov thanked all the lecturers of the Medical Faculty and all the relatives of the graduates.
